You are invited to a special event on October 13th when we will gather to honor Rev. Jasmine Beach-Ferrara with a NC Justice Center Defenders of Justice Award for her work as the Executive Director of the Campaign for Southern Equality.

We hope you will join us as recognize Jasmine for her service to her community and the state of NC. Defenders of Justice Awards are bestowed to individuals who are making a difference in the lives of North Carolinians. These few exemplify our mission — they are working to eliminate poverty in North Carolina and to create an equal playing field.

Raised in North Carolina, Jasmine Beach-Ferrara is a minister in the United Church of Christ. She has worked on LGBTQ rights campaigns since 2004 and founded the Campaign for Southern Equality in 2011. Jasmine and her wife, Meghann, live in Asheville, NC, with their three children. She serves on Buncombe County Commission, representing District 1. Jasmine has written widely about LGBTQ issues in the South.
